Located in northwest corner of Arkansas, Eureka Springs is an historic Victorian village nestled in the hills and valleys of the Ozark Mountains, approximately 10 miles from the Missouri state line, 50 miles east of Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers area, and roughly 50 miles south/southwest of Branson, Missouri.
Beautiful scenery, Beaver Lake, affordable housing, clean air and water, and a low crime rate, are all a part of life in the area, and an affordable vacation destination. The downtown area has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and you'll find many gift shops, restaurants and taverns, as well as hotels and various art galleries sure to peak your interests.
Since the 1930's, Eureka Springs has been a magnet for artists of visual, performance and literary skills. The entire month of May is celebrated as the May Festival of the Arts. Several organizations exist in the area solely to support, encourage, and enhance the arts.
Holiday Island, a planned unit development, located 5 miles north of Eureka Springs, adds a mix of retirees to the area, relocating from all over the country to enjoy nearby Table Rock Lake and golf. Boasting a population of over 2,500, Holiday Island is a terrific place to retire, offering affordable housing with central sewer and water to all lots, and a community center with a swimming pool and various activities during the season.
Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri have a mild climate during all seasons, averaging 38 degrees in winter, 58 degrees in spring, 76 degrees in summer, and 60 degrees in fall. Snowfall averages 3-4 inches per storm, usually in January and February, but melts quickly, and averages 60 percent sunshine throughout the year.

Eureka Springs Police Department
Eureka Springs has a police force of ten officers and seven patrol cars. Updated 911 service will soon be available courtesy of custom maps provided by the Eureka Springs High School East lab. The new 911 maps will offer shortcuts past busy areas, updated street names and directions.

Eureka Springs Fire Department
The Eureka Springs Fire Department boasts 25 personnel with paramedics and EMTs on staff. Together with the Holiday Island Fire Department, the units have rescue teams trained for water, high angle and search. Within the city limits, the fire rating is a class five.

Eureka Springs Hospital is a city owned and operated facility with 22 beds and services. The staff includes 4 doctors on active staff and 24 on total staff, 12 RN's for a total staffing of 90.
